Congratulations to Parish Hill Creamery for winning a coveted international cheese award!

This true American cheese is now being sold in New Hampshire exclusively at the Poocham Hill Winery in Westmoreland, NH.

Vermont’s own Rachel & Peter from Parish Hill Creamery just won a “Slow Cheese Award” from Slow Food International in Bra, Italy! They are one of seven creameries in the world to do so.

Read more: After 30 years experience in cheese production, Rachel and her husband Peter set up a small dairy farm, the Parish Hill Creamery, in Vermont. They started off milking 35 grass-fed cows and only produce cheese during the season when the animals graze on pasture. They neither pasteurize their milk nor subject it to heat treatment, and their dairy is one of very few in the USA not to use selected starters. With their Cornerstone project, they have pledged to spread natural cheese culture and organize lessons and seminars to teach other producers about the value of raw milk, the uniqueness of microflora, and the importance of striving for quality above all else.

As a dairy foods consultant and artisan cheesemaker, Peter Dixon draws on over 38 years of cheesemaking, as well as 25 years of consulting with people engaged in or interested in making cheese and dairy products.
